The Somaliland Lawyers Association (SOLLA) organized its Annual General Assembly on May 18th, convening over 180 registered advocates from across the regions of Maroodi Jeex, Togdheer, Awdal, Sahil, Sanaag, and Sool.
The main achievements of this assembly included:
1. Unveiling the 2026-2031 Strategic Judicial Support Roadmap to enhance digital legal portals.
2. Electing and confirming members of the Disciplinary Panel and Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Council.
3. Voting to expand free legal aid outreach specifically designed for rural and underrepresented populations.
President Mohamed Ibrahim Sool commented during his keynote close: "This is a historic milestone for Somaliland's legal practitioners. Under this new roadmap, we are establishing a digitized members directory, and introducing standardized pro-bono obligations for all legal licenses."
